5x15 and Keystone present: Six Ideas to Change the World: Jeff Goodell on Heat | 5x15
Sex is a human need and a RIGHT in my opinion. Everyone has a right to it. Sex is necessary for physical and emotional well being. Not getting it can have very detrimental physical and emotional consequences. It's like smoking. No, a lack of sex won't kill you right away, but it will shorten your lifespan and make you much more miserable. Unless a person is asexual, you CAN'T have a full life without it. Sex is an essential element of being human. You can't be a complete human without it. Incels are denied sex because they are guilty of the two Cardinal Sins according to women: they are lower income and socially awkward. Period. There are no millionaire incels. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong. While sex is a right, it is also immoral to coerce or force another person to have sex. That's a self evident moral principle. So how is this right to sex realized? Through AI companion/sex bots. I believe this technology will develop to a point within 25-35 years that the difference between a bot and a biological human will be barely noticeable. No one will have to be lonely anymore. Our intimate relationships should always be affirming, loving and stress free. Life is traumatic enough. We don't need additional trauma inflicted by our partners. From a man's perspective, women will lose control over access to sex. That TERRIFIES a lot of women. But too bad. Everyone has a right to sexual pleasure. For women, it will be nice to have a partner that caters to her needs and will always be loyal. No more cheating, no more physical or emotional abuse. I'm excited about this technology. It will be totally liberatory!
What a valuable and soulful conversation!
I love Susanna Clarke, her imagination and wittiness. I hope she finds enough strength to write something new soon. ❤ Thank you for this interview ❤
Great talk
Read the book and found it sad knowing many Monasteries . It has given her own Monastery i would say bad press very sadly.
peak districts, they're all over. Padley Gorge to grindleford will take you through one for example, obviously this is north east and the east side of the peaks..
Thank you. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and it is a joy to listen to this. I can appreciate how Sarah became so engrossed in this work and the discovery of the thousands of individuals involved in such a massive undertaking.
Max's themes, like the crow's, "time and time again is truth-telling" through stories. Touching.
Love this guy
So you're saying, patriarchy doesn't exist?
Maybe they should have a look in a few mansions in the back end of Tel Aviv .
I’m a huge fan of HJ and have read most, but not all of his novels and his journalism. They say that you cannot judge a book by its cover and in the case of this particular book, that’s no bad thing. Somebody please work a bit harder at making his books as good to look at as they are to read. So many of his recent volumes beg the reader to slip off the jacket and read the book naked. Howard deserves better.
NIIIIIIIIIIICE
Never enough satire
I would love to share with you my experiences - I also spent 10 years in a cloister in New Mexico - everything you say resonates with me.
I could have never matched her dedication, intensity, or bravery; but loving jazz the way I do, I get her. I understand.
Loving your book - George.
How nice to have someone sensible addressing this fascinating history.
No comments in 1 year....Is this due to obscurity or some more 'streetwise' behaviour? Some comments on the book talk: Freudian slip. Xi Jinping / Mao Zedong ? 'Freudian slips' are just perhaps 'neural network to speech' errors not repressed ideas or indicators?...Freudian psychology : A paranoid mind map arising from the gossip laden conservative chattering cohorts of old Vienna? Other mind maps are available. As someone said: 'If psychology wants to be taken seriously, however, it needs to focus on what is observable and testable. Speculation is perfectly fine, but evidence is far more important. I could be wrong however. Maybe this is only a result of my egocentric narcissism that is an emergent property of a sexual obsession with my mother that I never overcame during infancy…only kidding. Talk to your professor. Good luck!' From richarddawkins.net/2013/07/why-is-freud-still-being-taught-in-university-level-psychology-courses/ The chatterati of BBC and the Guardian still churn out redundant ideas...Concepts like : 'its in our DNA'. Human DNA : 2% of it codes for proteins, the rest regulates a highly complex multi layer network of RNA and mRNA, some elements of which behave like genes. Things have moved on since the Human Genome Project. 'Its somewhere sprinkled about our body' might be a more accurate statement. Journalism promotes 'generalisms'? All 'isms' often become 'wasms'. As for countries having 'souls'... Eh? The parallel given in the talk between Donald Trump and Mao Zedong was a nice idea though. The orchestrated 'barely civilized' flag waving mania looks similar to observers from other external nations/regions? Just saying.
😊 promo sm
Much enjoyed
Andrea is brilliant and authentic like no one else. You always sense that she knows and anticipates so much more then what she excellently states which is a lot.
Thank you for sharing your experience , it resonates. The ‘cell’ is quite thought provoking & fascinating to observe & contemplate, particularly in the vein of sacred geometry & in the surroundings you describe. Being free of worldly distractions is home & a sacred space, to feel the cymatics, frequencies & vibrations of a world we cannot see. “Silence is the language of God, all else, is poor interpretation” (unknown)
Vaillant/Valliant is an idiot; heat kills so does cold. What does this have to do with CO2 and climate change? Nothing!!
HUMANS use Natureza they don t get along on her like other species
Yes, also christianity, vegetais simbols in stone
I m 55 and i m always alone, Nature, silence,
The depth of these emotions - the upshot - is almost impossible to understand. Rest in peace to Cora Dekker (1944-2019) whose work in this field was invaluable.
Because times have changed is not an excuse to allow the environment to steal attention. Just as times changing is not an excuse to eat unhealthy food, not exercise and get fat. Let’s control our behavior! All reading this, please read Fogg’s Tiny Habits and Eyal’s Indistractable.
Shame we've seen so little of you Simon. You're a good laugh.
My auntie Hannah the earrings probably are from Ancient Rome
Thank you for this. Thank you all-around.
this man admitted that he smoked 60 cigarettes a day for 35 years ,so how could he taste anything ? He usually gave bad reviews of restaurants because the food genuinely tasted rubbish to him - try tasting a perfectly cooked steak after you have cauterised your mouth with a packet of fags . It is no surprise that the guy died from lung and throat cancer at only 62 years .
RTT HYPNOTHERAPY is rather efficient with these types of issues.
Your book, your podcast, and your youtube are just amazing. You are an amazing historian and I love your work. Thank you Julie.
I only know him from FGO and The Ancient Magus' Bride
Great work! I really hope John gains some traction with this, because he's really onto something special here. I've been following Global Warming since the 90s, & I can say I've heard a lot of great minds say a lot of great things over the years, but.... I've never heard it put the way that John is putting it. It's a really clear, eye opening & alarming perspective, which comes with perfect timing, as the world has never needed to hear what John is saying, more than it does now. Great work John. Decibels.
I agree with you. The blue plaques help us to remember important people who have made contributions to our society.
Fecundity is also a great novel..
Gosh I love Emile Zola. I'm almost done with the Rougon-Marquart cycle. I'm collecting the entire series
Read George last night, absolutely loved it.
Love his book. I won't touch the ripperligist book's bit Robinsons definitely a great read
I am 88 and practice Qigong and spend much time alone, luckily
Thank you for what is indeed, an epic.😊
My favorite film. Beyond magical.
Thank you, Simon Mills, for all what you do.
Wonderful. Thank you.
Why did the audience laugh at 8:06?
I wish I had your eloquence, your documentary on Timeline is the best i'd seen, Snow and Starkey and the feminists bbc adore are no where near as engaging, and ruled by their own egos, you are the opposite., i wish there were more to view of yours.
❤
